How did you learn of Costumers with a Cause?
In 2023 I was recruited by Cheyenne Warren (Northwest Branch) at “Infinity Con” in Tallahassee FL. I was dressed as the 5th Doctor. I stopped by their booth and she talked about the organization. Being a fairly new cosplayer I was excited to get involved with this organization
What is/was your favorite experience when in costume and why?
Seeing the smiles of others (children and adults) liking a costume I’m wearing. Also; since cosplay is becoming more popular it’s also enjoyable to cosplay more instead of waiting for just Halloween. It’s also fun to be around like minded cosplayers who also enjoy cosplaying.
Do you have a favorite superhero? If yes, who and why?
“The Flash” The concept of being able to run that fast is always fun and fascinating to imagine.
If you could cure any disease or disability, which would you cure?
Alzheimer’s. Seeing able body individuals have a loss of memory is saddening.
What hobbies do you have outside of CwC?
CrossFit, cooking, and reading.
The world is your oyster. You can go anywhere and do anything for as long as you’d like. Where would you go and what would you do?
Greece. I was stationed over there in 1996 and just loved all aspect of that county and its culture. I would love to take my time and see it all again.
Are there any causes or foundations that come close to your heart? If yes, which ones? Why?
Courage Through Cancer. I had a high school colleague go through the cancer fire. As a result she started that foundation to help and support other cancer victims, survivors, and also giving support to family members of those going through cancer.
Who are your real-life heroes?
Our military as I’m a Air Force retiree.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
1976. Our family drove from Kentucky to San Diego so my dad could see his brother.
Our uncle took us to Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and Disneyland and a Padres game. We even made a stop in Arizona so my my mom could visit her half sister.
That entire trip was fun from seeing the desert, California, and all the places we went to.
Tell us one thing you think would surprise us.
I’ve been skydiving twice.
